New System Applied to Line Inspection Car

Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is paying big efforts to building and managing railway in an efficient way by means of modern machinery and scientific methods. A new integrated measuring and analyzing system has been applied to the line inspection car Sobaeksu. The system ensures high accuracy in measuring and analyzing gauge, horizontality and unevenness of railway tracks. Running at the speed of 100-200 kilometers an hour, the line inspection car makes real-time measurement and analysis and sends data on poor sections and dangerous spots to trackmen's teams. The car was used in the construction of the Hyesan-Samjiyon railway. According to Kim Sung Chan, section chief of Pyongyang University of Railways, the system has provided a sure guarantee for the on-schedule operation of trains and its security. |
