Rodong Sinmun Blasts Japan's Moves for Sanctions and Pressure on DPRK

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Kono, during his recent visits to different countries, cried out for keeping on imposing sanctions on the DPRK and forcing it to settle the abduction issue. He, at talks with his Malaysian counterpart, begged for cooperating with Japan in resolving the abduction issue, emphasizing the uninterrupted sanctions on the DPRK. When meeting his French counterpart in Paris Kono stressed the need to maintain economic sanctions against the DPRK. In this regard, Rodong Sinmun says in a commentary Wednesday that it is a childish and sinister act of the Japanese reactionaries persistently seeking to block the trend of the favorable situation prevailing in the Korean peninsula and get rid of the position of "passing Japan". The commentary goes on: The Abe group is more persistently resorting to the moves for imposing sanctions and pressure on the DPRK. It is the ulterior intention of guys of an island nation to propel arms buildup and achieve the ambition for reinvasion under the pretext of the "threat" from the DPRK. It is the trite method of the Japanese reactionaries to draw water to their mill by hurting others whenever they are placed in a difficult position at home and abroad owing to their serious ruling crisis. The Japanese reactionaries, who are isolated from the public at home and abroad, are trying to reverse the trend of the situation in the region through the sordid act of making other countries join in cooperation for pressurizing the DPRK and attain their ambition to become a military giant at any cost. However, the Abe group's reckless act is foolish as it will make them all the more isolated in the international political arena. If Japan keeps on behaving spitefully, it will be all the more isolated and rejected. The Abe group had better bear it in mind and behave themselves, though belatedly. |
