Seen standing at the tower was a wreath from the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Attending the wreath-laying ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Ryong Nam, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Chang Gun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Army Col. General Kim Hyong Ryong, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, and others, officials concerned and Pyongyangites.

Ambassador Li Jinjun and staff members of the Chinese embassy here and the delegation of the Chinese Foreign Ministry led by Vice-Minister Kong Xuanyou, Chinese guests and Chinese students studying in the DPRK and Chinese residents in the DPRK.

Placed at the tower was a wreath in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Also laid were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, the DPRK-China Friendship Association, the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, the Pyongyang City People's Committee, the Chinese embassy here and other units.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs.

On the same day, wreaths were laid at the martyrs cemeteries and graves of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Hyongjesan District of Pyongyang, Hoechang County, Anju City and Kaesong City.
