Workers for Extracurricular Education Make Study Tour of Area of Mt Paektu

Hyesan, July 30 (KCNA) -- Officials, creators and teachers in the field of young people's extracurricular education from across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from July 24 to 30. They had a meeting in front of the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City on July 24 before starting and left for Pochonbo. They reached Pochonbo, where they placed a floral basket and bunches of flowers at the statue of the President on the bank of Karim Stream and paid tribute to him. Being briefed on the personality of the President as a great man, they went round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the Police Sub-station, the subcounty office, and others. At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, etc. the visitors looked back with deep emotion on the feats of Kim Jong Il who explored the road for making a study tour of the battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu and thus made the revolutionary traditions of Paektu shine more brilliantly century after century as eternal cornerstone of the Workers' Party of Korea and revolution. They also looked round the Samjiyon Grand Monument, groups of subsidiary theme sculptures, the shore of Lake Samji, trees bearing slogans and other historical mementoes. They visited the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station and then went to the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area. They had a meeting to renew pledge on the top of Mt Paektu and visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp. They went round the historical mementoes preserved in the birthplace associated with the history of the peerless great persons. During the study tour, they had a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, a question-and-answer study contest, presentation of artistry and works of the creators and teachers and other colorful political and cultural work. |
