Rodong Sinmun on Why Japan Talks about "Threat" from DPRK

Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries, in its recent 2018 defense white paper, specified that "there is no change in their principal understanding of the 'threat' from north Korea" even after the DPRK-U.S. summit in Singapore, the first one in history, terming the DPRK an "unprecedentedly grave and urgent threat". This is fabulous sophism and a vivid manifestation of the Japanese regime's unchanged policy hostile toward the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary. Detailing the moves spurred by the Japanese reactionaries to emerge as a military giant, frequently touting "threat" from someone, the commentary goes on: In a nutshell, the story about "threat" has become a tool for use whenever it is necessary for turning Japan into a military giant. Today Japan's "Self-Defense Forces" have grown to be dangerous war forces. It is the wild ambition of the Japanese reactionaries to realize the old dream for the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". Acts of distorting the past crime-woven history and creating the atmosphere for launching reinvasion are openly committed in Japan. It is the calculation of the Japanese reactionaries to occupy the Korean peninsula and launch continental advance with the peninsula as a springboard as Japan did in the past. The Abe cult is systematically scaling up the moves for a military giant and justifying them under the signboard of non-existent "threat" from the DPRK. But it is, indeed, stupid. The Abe cult should stop talk about "threat" as no one would believe it. It should drop its scenario for reinvasion. |
