The contest includes volleyball, table tennis and other events

Present at the opening ceremony were Ri Il Hwan, department director of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Kwang Chol, minister of Posts and Telecommunications, officials concerned, officials of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, players selected from all provinces and working people in the city.

At the end of the ceremony there was a men's volleyball game.

The contest will be held in various parts of Pyongyang until Aug. 14.
