Japan Is Not Safe Zone: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Recently, radioactive material leaked in 2011 when the accident of the Fukushima atomic power plant of Japan had occurred was found during a test of wine produced in California, the U.S.

The test found that wine produced after 2011 contains cesium-137 twice as much as the one produced in the preceding period.

This being a hard fact, Japan is hyping itself as a "safe zone," says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a commentary.

The commentary goes on:

This is aimed to shake off its ill reputation as a "radioactive state."

Radioactive damage is still observed in the areas near the Fukushima atomic power plant.

Radioactive materials have been found in plants, fungus, wild animals and fish in the areas around Fukushima Prefecture and the waters off it. The contamination level is beyond the tolerance limit.

More serious is the fact that a huge amount of plutonium is stored in Japan. This has become a main factor of causing a terrible nuclear disaster once again. Thousands of nuclear material containers have been kept without any safe guarantee at institutes under the Japan atomic power study agency and this caused damage last year.

Japan can never be a safe zone. It is a dangerous zone which would cause an accident more terrible than the Fukushima atomic power plant accident and bring a huge calamity to the world.
