The heroic Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class, scientists and technicians hewed out a new ground in the railway construction of the DPRK by successfully building the Koam-Tapchon Railways crossing the rough sea as monumental edifice in the era of the Workers' Party.

According to a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly on August 10, Order of Kim Il Sung went to Ham Ki Sok, Order of Kim Jong Il to Mun Jong Ung and Choe Jin Hong, the title of DPRK labor hero to Jang Chun Song, Kim Hak Chol and four other persons and Kim Jong Il Prize to Kim Kwang Su.

Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize went to 4, Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize to 5, title of Merited Scientist to 2, title of Merited Designer to 2, title of Merited Builder to 1, title of Merited Crewman to 2, title of Merited Driver to 1, Order of National Flag First Class to 31, Order of Labour to 41, Order of National Flag Second Class to 482, Order of National Flag Third Class to 699, Distinguished Military Service Medal to 2 and Merit Medal to 1 083.
