It started in France on August 5. It brought together teams from 16 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, France, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.

In the group league which is divided into four groups, the DPRK women's football team played matches with teams of England, Mexico and Brazil in Group B.

The DPRK team beat its Brazilian rival 2:1 in the last match of the group league on August 12 and advanced into quarterfinals.

It will play quarterfinals with the French team on August 17.
