With the ardent love for the people, the Supreme Leader visited a number of units in North Phyongan, Ryanggang, North Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces to give earnest instructions for the improvement of the people's living standard and indicate the orientation and ways for attaining the goals of the five-year strategy for national economic development.

In early August when it was forecasted that high temperature phenomenon would reach the maximum, he looked round new-type trolley bus and tram and personally guided their trial operations, highly praising the working class, scientists and technicians of the field of passenger service and related units for having done really worthwhile and big things for the people.

He also visited the Samchon Catfish Farm and the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory for the improvement of the dietary life of servicepersons and people.

At the Samchon Catfish Farm, he expressed his great satisfaction over the fact that it is possible to supply servicepersons with 10 times more fish than before. While touring the storehouse of the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory, he said the heaps of pickled fish goods made him feel pride and he feels proud and worth living at the thought of contributing to the betterment of the people's diet even a bit.

In mid-August, he had continued his journey by giving field guidance to the Ungok Area General Stock Farm and the newly-built Station for Stocking Lake Yonphung with Fishes.
