Newspapers Laud President Kim Il Sung's Exploits for Country's Liberation
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of the DPRK editorially laud the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by liberating the country on Wednesday, the 73rd anniversary of Korea's liberation.

August 15 when the country was liberated by the President was an auspicious day in the Korean nation's history, which made a decisive turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people and started the new history of socialist Korea, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:

Kim Il Sung, leaving bloody traces in every range and stream of Mt Paektu and the River Amnok for 20 years, defeated the wicked Japanese imperialists and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation. He is a peerless patriot and the sun of the Korean nation.

He embarked upon the road of revolution in his early years out of his far-reaching intention to build a country where the people are its masters.

Though there was neither state-backing home front nor assistance of a regular army, he led the anti-Japanese war to a brilliant victory.

Thanks to him who liberated the country, the popular masses who were once oppressed and maltreated could emerge as masters of history and the country once eclipsed on the world map could demonstrate its dignity as a full-fledged independent and sovereign state.

Under the wise leadership of the President who advanced the revolution and construction our own way by mobilizing the tremendous creativity and wisdom of the popular masses under the banner of the Juche idea, the country could emerge a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence and the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" rang out throughout the country.

Minju Joson praises Kim Il Sung as the benefactor of national resurrection and founding father of socialist Korea who provided an independent life to the Korean people by fighting against the Japanese imperialists for 20 years.
