The games brought together the April 25 team and the team of the Pyongyang International Football School of the DPRK, the Ryonchon team of Kyonggi Province and the team of south Kangwon Province of south Korea, the Renhe team of Beijing of China, the SKA team of Khabarovsk of Russia and the FC Shakhtyor team of Belarus and the FC Bunyodkor team of Uzbekistan.

A curtain-raiser match took place between the April 25 team and the team of south Kangwon Province at Kim Il Sung Stadium on Wednesday.

The April 25 team beat its rival 4-1.

Prior to this, there was a congratulatory match between the U-15 women's football players of the north and the south of Korea.

The games will last till Aug. 18.
