L. Shukolinikov, chairman of the Permanent Standing Committee of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected as chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to hold various political and cultural events to mark the birthday of the DPRK.
