Javid Ahmad, director of the Administrative Department of the Kuwait Times and chairman of the Kuwait Asian Journalist Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize various political and cultural events to give wide publicity to the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the building of an independent state and to the personality of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is steering the world politics as a heaven-sent great man and the proud successes being registered by the Korean army and people in socialist construction under his guidance in the period from Aug. 14 to Sept. 10.
