Rodong Sinmun Blasts Japanese Imperialists' Mass Killing
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- It has been 73 years since the case of explosion of the ship Ukishima-maru, which remains a bruise in the mind of the Korean people.

Thousands of Koreans, who were returning home with joy at the liberation of the country and dream to lead a happy life in their birthplaces, lost their lives in the explosion of the ship on Aug. 24, 1945.

In this regard, Rodong Sinmun Friday in an article cites facts to say that the ship's explosion was recorded in history as a mass killing of Koreans by the Japanese imperialists.

The article says:

Though the truth behind the case was probed, the Japanese government still insists that Koreans went aboard the ship of their own accord, and describes the case as an "accident".

This is sheer distortion of the truth behind the crime and revelation of impudence and craftiness peculiar to Japan.

The explosion of the ship by the most heinous killers is an unethical crime that can never be pardoned in the light of international law and from a humanitarian viewpoint.

What is more serious is that Japan committed such organized and deliberate massacre at the time when it was tried by history as a war criminal state.

Japan has tried to attain its ambition to reinvade Korea for over seven decades since the explosion of the ship.

Japan's history of crimes, characterized by its colonial rule over Korea of more than four decades and the hostile policy towards the DPRK after its defeat, can neither be written off nor covered up no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.

The souls of those who were sent to the dark blue waters off Maizuru with their towering grudge unsettled are still crying for revenge.
