Rodong Sinmun says that the DPRK's accession to the NAM as its full-fledged member was a significant event in enhancing the position and authority of the DPRK in the international arena and advancing the building of an independent new world onto a new high stage.

After its accession to the movement, the DPRK has waged more active struggle to foil aggression, war, and high-handed and arbitrary practices of the imperialists and the domination forces in the international arena.

Therefore, NAM could more vigorously develop, and the movement for strengthening unity, solidarity and cooperation among the member nations has greeted the new times of turn.

Today NAM has faced various challenges under the international situation which is getting all the more complicated due to the imperialists' aggression, war and interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

The situation urgently requires than ever before the NAM member nations to wage courageous actions against the imperialists' aggression and war moves.

What is of utmost importance for NAM in foiling outside challenge and threat and in fulfilling its mission and role is to strengthen in every way unity and cooperation among its member nations.

It is the fixed stand of the DPRK to make active contributions to the strengthening and development of NAM true to its foreign policy of independence, peace and friendship.

Minju Joson stresses that the DPRK will as ever remain true to the principle and idea of NAM and thus live up to its mission and duty in realizing the cause of world independence.
