Sazhi Umalatova, chairperson of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, C. M. Kramarenko, chairman of the Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia, and Podzorov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the All-Russia Lenin Young Communist League, were elected as chairpersons of the preparatory committees.

The committees decided to organize various political and cultural events, including a meeting and film show, on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
