Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- The second-stage waterway project has been pushed forward in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK, as a part of the drive to attain the goals of the five-year strategy for national economic development. As of now, 20-odd waterway tunnels, laying of siphons, underground structure for a reservoir and over 100 small-size structures have been completed. The central headquarters for the project set the building of storage dam and waterway tunnel as the main targets and sped up the overall construction. In particular, Nampho City Brigade has stepped up the construction of intake and water towers after finishing an overflow dam in April. North Phyongan Provincial Brigade has raised the blasting efficiency to the maximum through rational arrangement of blast holes to gain fast headway in tunneling, while going ahead with the extension of waterway tunnel and concrete cover. North Hwanghae Provincial Brigade raised the building speed 1.5 times and thus completed its five construction projects earlier than schedule. |
