Japan of late decided to organize a cyber unit in the west district corps of the Ground "Self-Defense Force" (SDF) - the unit to control the region with frequent naval frictions with China.

Against this backdrop, the Japan Maritime SDF is waging a military drill in the vast waters from South Sea of China to the Indian Ocean across the Malacca Strait from Aug. 26.

Japan announced that the joint naval exercise involving different countries would continue till the end of October.

The escalated military moves in the nearby waters of China were carried out pursuant to Japan's ambitious strategy towards China.

It further causes the serious strategic contradiction between China and Japan which is not a secret.

Going back to the past, the "India Pacific Strategy" set by Japan and the U.S. last year as a joint diplomatic strategy is virtually for creating a geopolitical "siege" to China.

Japan is trying to build the first cyber unit in the region under the control of the west district corps of the Ground SDF, while describing it as "a vantage point of national defense", and is staging of naval drill for more than two months. This is part of the strategy.

In this context, one can not remain a passive onlooker to Japan's 2018 defense white paper which more strongly suggested the theory of "threat to China".

In connection with such moves, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the sharp adjustment of military security policy and the exaggeration of the threat to security by Japan cause the vigilance of the nearby countries and the international community, demanding Japan keep to the road of peaceful development and act with discretion in the military security sphere.

Japan's major media also commented that its military steps targeted China.

What is serious is that Japan's acts towards China are not confined to the issue of the bilateral ties but adversely affect the situation in the region.

As almost Asian countries are located near the regions and waters characterized by the China-Japan friction caused by Japan's military moves, those moves directly influence the whole of the region as well as the relevant nations.

And as Japan's military moves are motivated by the long-term strategy "India Pacific Strategy", in case of the escalated contradiction between China and Japan it will be creating a factor of sustained instability in the region and bring about serious consequences in the peaceful development of the regional states.

It is natural that China is intensifying military counter-measures towards Japan including the largest-ever naval parade for the first time in history in South Sea of China in April.

Japan has to pay for its acts of destroying peace.
