KCNA Commentary Derides "Grand Unity" of S. Korean Conservatives
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Recently, the opposition conservative parties are attempting to reorganize the political camp, talking about "grand unity."

The "Liberal Korea Party" is asserting that it is the time for the conservative camp to be one and it is the final goal of the "renovation of the party" to found a unified conservative party.

The "Parun Mirae Party" is also hyping even the mode of reorganizing the political camp, talking about unification of the opposition conservative parties and unity of lawmakers, while making it a fait accompli to found a new conservative party.

It is so astonishing that those, who had been trading with each other ill language like "bogus conservatism" and "political party bound to collapse" a few days ago, disguised themselves as "political forces sharing the same intention."

The conservative coteries' farce of "grand unity" is just the last resort employed by the horde of traitors in a bid to prolong the remainder of their doomed life after being forsaken and rejected by the public.

Now the opposition conservative parties of south Korea are at stake as their political foundation has weakened as they suffered a series of defeats in elections.

The LKP has been exasperated by its members' consecutive withdrawal from the party after losing its "traditional support foundation." It is little different from a minor opposition party in support rate.

The same is the plight of the "Parun Mirae Party."

The busy conservative coteries are seeking their way out in re-orchestrating a mean political farce peculiar to the preceding conservatives.

The disgusting conservatives seeking different goals under the same roof are going to hold their hands with each other, exchanging deceptive glances. This is aimed to lay a springboard for seizing power by defeating the democratic pro-reform forces in the next parliamentary election.

They are saying "the grand unity of the conservatives is not the issue of choice but a requisite matter," which means that they are pinning their last hope on it.

However, that farce is just a unity of the confrontation maniacs who bedeviled the north-south relations and brought the danger of war to the Korean peninsula, evil forces that worsen the economy and people's living by pursuing the policies of depending on outsiders and conglomerates and indulging themselves in corruption and irregularities, and remnants of the past fascist regimes seeking to stamp out democracy and revive dictatorship.

It is quite natural that such behavior is drawing public repugnance in south Korea.

With no sleight of hand can the conservatives save their doomed fate now that the trend of the times is oriented to national reconciliation and unity, peace and reunification.
