Talks between Vice-Chairman of C.C., WPK and Deputy Regional Secretary of Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party Held

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- Talks between Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, and Hilal Al Hilal, deputy regional secretary of the Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, were held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday.

Exchanged at the talks were views on further developing the traditional and solid relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties in keeping with the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Present at the talks from the WPK side were Ri Il Hwan, department director of the C.C., WPK, Kim Yong Jae, minister of External Economic Relations who is chairman of the DPRK-Syria Friendship Association, and officials concerned and from the opposite party were members of the Syrian party and government delegation, Tammam Sulaiman, Syrian ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials.

At the end of the talks, an agreement on cooperation between the two parties was signed.
