Present there were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, and senior officials of the party, government and army.

Also present were officials of the party and power bodies, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and officials of the institutions and industrial establishments in Pyongyang.

Kim Yong Nam read the congratulatory message in the joint name of the C.C., WPK, the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

The message extended the highest glory and warmest congratulations to Supreme Leader of our party, state and army Kim Jong Un in reflection of the mind of all the people and service personnel on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the DPRK.

It noted that the Supreme Leader put forward it as the fundamental principle of building a powerful nation to strengthen the DPRK into the state of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, successfully carried out it and thus provided the foundation of eternal prosperity of Juche Korea

The Supreme Leader also brought about a new turning phase in improving the north-south relations and carrying out the cause of national reunification and put the dignity and international prestige of the DPRK on the highest level through his prominent political caliber and energetic external activities, it pointed out.

It underlined the need for the people and service personnel of the People's Army to dash like the wind toward the morrow of a powerful socialist country indicated by the Supreme Leader.
