The Lao president in the message extended the greeting of the friendliest and best wishes to Kim Jong Un, and through him to the Central Committee of the WPK and the fraternal government and people of the DPRK on behalf of the LPRP Central Committee, the Lao government and National Assembly, and the Lao people, and on his own behalf on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

The president noted that he is very pleased with the fact that under the experienced and bold leadership of the WPK headed by Kim Jong Un, successor to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the great leaders of the Korean people, and their cause, the Korean people are building the DPRK into the one undergoing a comprehensive development, which is very stable in politics, strong in national defence and constant in its economic development and where the mental and material life, education and welfare of the people are improved at a high level, by giving full play to self-reliance despite pressure from outside and difficulties, and are steadfastly advancing to carry out the cause of socialist construction.

The president sincerely congratulated Kim Jong Un on those great successes.

All those successes serve as great courage to the Lao people who turned out in defending the country and carrying out the cause of developing the country.

I highly appreciate the excellent and traditional cooperative relations between the two parties, two governments and two countries, which were provided by President Kaysone Phomvihane, the respected leader of the Lao people, and President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the DPRK, and have been steadily consolidated and developed by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries.

I am convinced that under the guidance of the WPK headed by you the Korean people would continue to register successes in implementing the cause of building a powerful country and the cause of peaceful reunification of the country, and thus make tangible contributions to preserving peace and stability of the region and the rest of the world.

The message wished Kim Jong Un good health and new bigger successes in his noble work.
