International Seminar Held
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- An international seminar on "The Juche Idea and 70 years of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" was held in Pyongyang on Saturday under the co-sponsorship of the International Institute of the Juche Idea and the Korean Association of Social Scientists to mark the 70th birthday of the DPRK.

Present there were Pak Kwang Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea who is also chairman of the Korean Association of Social Scientists, officials concerned, Harish Gupta, vice-director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and delegations and delegates of organizations for the study of the Juche idea from various countries and regions.

Kenichi Ogami, winners of International Kim Il Sung Prize and International Kim Jong Il Prize who is secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, made an opening address which was followed by a congratulatory speech delivered by Ri Hye Jong, first vice-chairwoman of the Korean Association of Social Scientists and president of the Academy of Social Sciences.

They said that the validity and invincible vitality of the Juche idea have been clearly manifested through the 70 years-long history of the DPRK.

The reporter expressed his conviction that the cause of human independence will surely emerge victorious as long as there are the Juche idea, the great guiding idea of the era of independence, and the world progressives equipped with the idea.

Speakers gave detailed explanations to the proud 70 years-long history of the DPRK which has demonstrated its invincible might as a socialist country, independent, self-supporting and self-reliant, and issues arising in dynamically waging the struggle for building an independent and prosperous new society under the banner of the immortal Juche idea.

A letter to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
