Invited there were members of the party and government delegation of the PRC led by Li Zhanshu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the PRC, who is special envoy of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the C.C. CPC, and president of the PRC, and staff members of the Chinese embassy here.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, Ryu Myong Son, vice department director of the C.C., WPK, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.

Kim Yong Nam made a speech at the reception.

He said that the visit of the party and government delegation of the PRC serves as the demonstration of friendship and unity between the two peoples of the DPRK and China, adding that the sentiment of friendship between the two peoples who have closely supported and cooperated with each other in the sacred struggle for the common cause in the history of the DPRK-China friendship can be clearly felt.

He referred to the fact that the DPRK-China friendship of long historic roots is being further developed as required by the new era by the continuous meetings of the top leaders of the two countries, and expressed belief that the DPRK-China friendship would further develop with vigor by the common efforts of both sides in the future.

He extended warm congratulations to Chairman Kim Jong Un and the Central Committee of the WPK on behalf of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Central Committee of the CPC.

Sincerely wishing the Korean people greater successes in their work for socialist construction, he underscored the need to successfully defend, consolidate and develop the traditional China-DPRK relations of friendship, precious common wealth of both sides, true to the noble intentions of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries.

The reception proceeded in a fraternal and amicable atmosphere all the time.
