Kim Yong Nam Meets Chairwoman of Russian Federation Council

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, met and had a talk with Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, and her party at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Sept. 8 when they paid a courtesy call on him.

Kim Yong Nam referred to the fact that the DPRK which demonstrates its might as an invincible power is significantly greeting its 70th birthday under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and expressed the stand to further strengthen the traditional DPRK-Russia friendly relations.

The chairwoman said that she was rejoiced to attend the celebrations for the 70th DPRK birthday, mentioning the expansion and development of the overall bilateral relations including the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries this year, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
