Talks between Kim Yong Nam and Mauritanian President

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- There were talks between Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, president of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Saturday.

Kim Yong Nam warmly welcomed the Mauritanian president for visiting the DPRK to take part in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the DPRK and said that his visit serves as an important occasion in advancing the historic friendly ties between the two countries from a fresh point.

The Mauritanian president expressed his willingness to further develop the friendly ties between the two countries, being pleased to his visit the DPRK to take part in the events for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the DPRK.

At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of expanding and developing historic friendly ties in several fields and issues of mutual concern.
