The platform were taken by Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, and other senior party, government and army officials, chairmen of the provincial committees of the WPK and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth League.

Also taking it were Salvador Antonio Valdes Mesa, first vice-president of the Council of State and first vice-president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, Helal Al-Helal, deputy regional secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, and heads of party, state and government delegations from different countries on a visit to the DPRK to attend the celebrations of the 70th birthday of the DPRK.

Seen on the platform were heads of the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan, the congratulatory group of the General Association of Koreans in China and the delegation of the International United Confederation of Koreans.

Invited to the torchlight procession were delegates to the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the DPRK, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, ministries and national institutions, officers and men of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and persons of merit.

Present there on invitation were members of overseas Koreans congratulatory groups and delegations, individual overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, and members of foreign delegations, representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations and members of the military attaches corps here and other foreign guests.

When the start of the torchlight procession was declared, letters reading "September 9" and "Celebrations 70" in celebration of the anniversary of the DPRK were displayed on the ground amid the playing of song "The Glorious Country".

Open limousines carrying the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il past the square, escorted by the young vanguard with torches in their hands.

Youth and students portrayed large-size letters reading "Kim Il Sung's Nation" and "Kim Jong Il's Korea" and the sun with torchlight.

They depicted the emblem of the WPK, the national flag and letters reading "Kim Jong Un's era", "Supreme Leader" and "Banner of Victory" with torchlight.

The procession advanced, forming letters reading "Heroic Korea" and "Single-minded Unity" with well-organized formation changes and other letters demonstrating the dignity of socialist Korea and representing figures portraying the torchlight holder of the Tower of the Juche Idea and the Monument to Party Founding.

The best wishes of all the people and the youth for Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un were reflected in the large letters reading "Glory to Marshal!" made with torchlight, and fireworks of celebration went off to significantly decorate the end of the torchlight procession.
