Concert Given by National Symphony Orchestra

Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- The National Symphony Orchestra gave a concert "Socialist Symphony" at the Moranbong Theatre on Monday to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the DPRK. Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Presidium member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Pong Ju, Presidium member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, and other senior party and government officials, officials of the WPK Central Committee, military organs, ministries and national institutions and officials and merited persons of institutions and industrial establishments in Pyongyang. Invited to it were members of overseas compatriots' congratulatory groups and delegations, individual overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front. Also present on invitation were diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international organizations here, military attaches here and other foreign guests. The concert started with prelude "The Glorious Country" and the Patriotic Song (National Anthem) followed by seven movements such as "Ode to People's Republic", "My Country Is So Nice", "Great Guardian", "Prosperous Country", "Song of Socialist Advance", "Friendly Music" and "O Party, It's Thanks to Your Care". Its performers highly praised President Kim Il Sung for building the country into a people-centred socialist state, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence, and Chairman Kim Jong Il for devoting all his life to implementing the cause of building a powerful country under the banner of Songun. They well represented in mixed orchestra the people's deep reverence and trust in Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is glorifying the DPRK as a dignified people's country. |
