In this regard, Song Chol Man, an official of the General Bureau of Forest under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, told KCNA:

Its sapling-producing district has greenhouse, outdoor cultivation ground, circular cutting bed, substrate-producing ground, seed selection and sowing grounds, etc.

The greenhouse was built with plastic sheets of high heat insulation, of which light transmission reaches 80 percent. And temperature, humidity, intensity of sunshine, content of carbonic acid gas, ventilation, etc. are auto-controlled by the computer integrated manufacturing (CIM).

It needs only 3 workers to take care of the greenhouse capable of double-production a year, each with over 560 000 saplings.

Plastic potted saplings are growing in the outdoor cultivation ground where shading is auto-controlled by the CIM according to weather conditions.

And all the processes at the light substrate-producing ground and seed selection and sowing grounds have been mechanized, automated and streamlined.
