Speakers at the symposium said that the demand on potato which is beneficial to good health and longevity of people and highly productive is rising day by day throughout the world and the researches into increasing potato seed production and technology for high-yielding cultivation are actively conducted in the DPRK.

They noted the symposium will offer a good opportunity in sincerely discussing theoretical and practical issues arising in the field of potato seed production and vitalizing mutual cooperation and exchange.

Then followed by speeches under the titles of "Trend of virus-free potato seed production and measures for development", "Research into increasing potato progenitors in hydroponic greenhouse".

Speakers gave a scientific and theoretical explanation about the issues arising in breeding new strain of potato and increasing seed production.
