Born as the first daughter of a farm hand in Yonan County of South Hwanghae Province during the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea, she experienced the sorrow of being a member of the stateless nation, being maltreated and humiliated by the exploiting classes.

After President Kim Il Sung liberated Korea, she could lead a genuine life as human being and see the figure of the prosperous country.

Even after becoming a pensioner she has kept herself busy, enjoying her remaining years in good health.
