Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- President Moon Jae In arrived at Samjiyon on Thursday to climb Mt Paektu, holy mountain of the nation, under the national and global spotlight.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, came out to Samjiyon Airport together with his wife Ri Sol Ju to greet President Moon Jae In and his wife.

Coming out to the airport were Kim Yong Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Army General No Kwang Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, Ri Sang Won, chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, and Ri Song Guk, chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial People's Committee.

The airplane carrying Moon Jae In and his party landed on Samjiyon Airport at 8:15 a.m.

Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju exchanged warm greetings with Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook amid the playing of welcome music.

Arriving together with them were Jong Ui Yong, chief of the State Security Office of Chongwadae; Jo Myong Gyun, minister of Unification; Kang Kyong Hwa, minister of Foreign Affairs; Song Yong Mu, minister of Defense; To Jong Hwan, minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Kim Hyon Mi, minister of Land and Transport; Kim Yong Chun, minister of Oceans and Fisheries; So Hun, director of the Intelligence Service; Kim Jae Hyon, minister of the Korea Forest Service; Ju Yong Hun, head of the Presidential Security Service; Kim Hyon Chol, adviser to the president for economic affairs; Kim Jong Chon, chief protocol secretary of Chongwadae; Yun Kon Yong, chief of the State Affairs Planning Office of Chongwadae; Kim Ui Gyom, a spokesman for Chongwadae; who are official entourage of the south side and personages of different social strata who are special entourage.

Schoolchildren presented bouquets to Moon Jae In and his wife.

There was a ceremony of welcoming Moon Jae In.

People of Samjiyon County warmly welcomed Moon Jae In and his party.

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju together with Moon Jae In and his wife and entourage left for Mt Paektu.
