Withdrawal of U.S. Forces Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- The People's Action for Peace against War and other civic and social organizations of south Korea recently held a rally outside the U.S. military base in Ryongsan to condemn the U.S. for hindering the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean peninsula, according to news reports from south Korea.

Speakers at the rally charged that the U.S. troops checked the project for reconnecting the railways between the north and the south days ago.

In a resolution, the organizations expressed the will to turn out in the struggle for independence against the U.S. and for getting the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea.

The Solidarity for People's Sovereignty, the Progressive Federation of Students and other organizations and Seoul citizens held rallies in different parts of Seoul in demand of the withdrawal of the U.S. troops, contending that it is directly connected with the destiny of the Korean nation for peace, prosperity and reunification.
