Antonio Guterres said the recent dramatic events, witnessed one after another in the Korean peninsula, were attributable to a bold decision made by HE Chairman Kim Jong Un and that the UN is very optimistic about the situation of the peninsula.

He remarked that the recent north-south summit has given a strong impression to the world, sincerely hoping that greater progress would be made in the DPRK-U.S. relations.
