Japanese Reactionaries Accused of Trying to Revive Past of Aggression

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese reactionaries urgently purchased nine early warning planes from the U.S. under the pretext of bolstering up the combat power to cope with missiles and warplanes. Meanwhile, they, together with the U.S., examined the ballistic missile interceptor system which was loaded on the newest Aegis destroyer of the Japan Maritime "Self-Defense Force" in the Pacific Ocean, taking issue with the DPRK. At a seminar held in Washington a special assistant to the National Security Council of Japan called for the possession of the independent preemptive attack capability, asserting that Japan is "weak to cope with the existing threat from north Korea." Rodong Sinmun on Thursday says in a commentary that the Japanese reactionaries are running high fever in the military confrontational moves going against the atmosphere of dialogue and detente on the Korean peninsula, adding that this is an intentional move to destroy the hard-won opportunity of peace. It is inveterate evil practice of guys of an island nation to draw water to their mill by hurting others, the commentary says, and goes on: It is not a secrecy that the Japanese reactionaries are working hard to revive the past of aggression while nursing an old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". The ruling forces of Japan obsessed with the ambition for reinvasion are seeking an excuse to legally plunge into the way of overseas aggression. It is just the "threat from north Korea." These days the Japanese authorities are advertising the "new era" and "foundation of peace and prosperity", talking about dialogue with the DPRK. On the other hand, they desperately seek to escalate tension in the Korean peninsula and the region and gratify their ambition for reinvasion, taking issue with the DPRK. It is a shameless act for them to wag their tongue about the "new era" while sharpening the sword of invasion behind the curtain of peace. |
