Present there were officials and researchers of ministries, national institutions, scientific research institutes, educational units and relevant units including the Academy of Agricultural Science, and members of the European Union Programme Support in the DPRK.

The speakers said that the symposium would offer an occasion for swapping achievements and experience gained in vegetable breeding and seed production and vegetable processing methods and invigorating mutual exchange and cooperation.

There were speeches titled "Some ways for improving quality of vegetable seeds" and "Characteristics of newly bred tomato strains".

The speakers gave scientific explanation about practical issues arising in the cultivation of new vegetable strains, seed production and cultivation and use.
