State Academic Degrees and Titles Conferred on Intellectuals in DPRK

| Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were conferred on the intellectuals who contributed to the development of the country's economy and the improvement of the people's living standard. The title of candidate academician was awarded to Kang Yong Ho, department head of Kim Il Sung University, and Kim Jong Gil, a researcher at the Institute of Koryo Medicine. Professorship went to a large number of teachers and researchers of various universities. Doctorate was conferred on Kim Chol Hyok and Kim Sung Chol, department heads of Kim Il Sung University, and others. The title of associate professor went to 199 persons and master's degree to 1,127. An awarding ceremony took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Thursday. |
