Antonio Guterres highly appreciated the inter-Korean summits, DPRK-U.S. summit and other dialogues held so far this year, and hoped that all the issues would be tackled well through the efforts of all parties.

Ri Yong Ho said that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un brought about a new phase of dramatic detente of the situation in the Korean peninsula with his superb political ability and through energetic external activities. And he stressed that the UN has responsibility and duty to support and encourage the development of situation helpful to the international peace and security in keeping with its mission.
