International Day of Older Persons Marked in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Aged people in the DPRK marked the International Day of Older Persons.

Colorful art performances and special services and sports games were arranged for the aged in Pyongyang and every province, city and county.

Former unconverted long-term prisoners and their spouses, war veterans, merited persons and other aged people watched a circus show given by the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Pyongyang Circus Theater.

Put on the stage were numbers including physical and comic acrobatics.

Sports and amusement games of the aged people took place at the Songyo Gymnasium and angling contest on the bank of the Taedong River.

Leisure complexes such as Moran Hill and promenade beside the Taedong River were full of happy laughter of the aged people.

Kind services at Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant, Hyangmanru Restaurant and other public catering establishments also delighted the older people.

Congratulations were offered to the aged people on the International Day of Older Persons.

Officials of the Party and power organs visited the homes for the aged and offered them souvenirs and took warm care of their life.

Meanwhile, a seminar was held at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club under the participation of officials of the Central Committee of the Korea Federation for the Care of the Aged and officials concerned and diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international bodies here on Monday, the International Day of Older Persons.
