Inter-Korean Summit Hailed in Various Countries
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The historic inter-Korean summit has been welcomed by governments of different countries.

Hailing the recent meeting and talks between Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK Kim Jong Un and President Moon Jae In, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration", made public at the summit, is of great significance in activating exchange and cooperation between the north and the south of Korea and building a durable peace-keeping mechanism.

The Foreign Ministry of Laos hoped that all the relevant countries would make joint efforts to keep a good atmosphere, expressing pleasure over the positive development of situation on the Korean peninsula.

The Foreign Ministry of Turkey welcomed the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" signed by the top leaders of the north and the south and sincerely hoped that a permanent peace would settle in the Korean peninsula through such process.

The Foreign Ministry of Indonesia stressed that the summit in Pyongyang marked an occasion of opening up a new era on the Korean peninsula.

The Foreign Ministry of Colombia hoped that a durable peace on the Korean peninsula would be achieved in conformity with the wish of the Korean people and the unanimous will of the international community.

The government of Nicaragua called upon the relevant countries to cooperate with each another for peace and stability of the Korean peninsula.

Governments of many countries including Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Belarus, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador and Costa Rica expressed expectations and conviction that the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" would be implemented to open up a new era of peace and prosperity in the Korean peninsula.
