Looking round the production processes of caustic soda at the February 8 Vinalon Complex, the premier highlighted the need to radically increase the production of basic chemical products by fully displaying the spirit of self-reliance and self-development based on science and technology.

He visited the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and the Ryongsong Machine Complex where he said that the relevant sectors should take thorough measures to supply materials to the Complex.

Later he inspected the Hungnam Pharmaceutical Factory, Hamhung Disabled Soldier's Prosthesis Factory and others before going to the Ryongjon Fruit Farm in Pukchong County and the Pukchong Apple Research Institute.

At field consultative meetings, measures were taken to solve in time the scientific and technological issues arising in putting production on a normal footing and officials were called upon to do well the work with scientists and technicians.
