Workshop Run by UNESCO in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- A workshop for community-based inventorying of the intangible cultural heritage and for elaborating nomination files under the Mechanisms of UNESCO 2003 Convention was co-sponsored by the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the UNESCO at the Sci-Tech Complex in the DPRK from September 26 to October 3.

Lectures were given by Federica Lellici (Italian), project coordinator of UNESCO Beijing Office, and Ogge Suzanne (French) and Zhu Gang (Chinese), UNESCO International facilitators.

Jang Myong Ho, department director of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, told KCNA that the workshop served as an important occasion to further develop the exchange and cooperation with UNESCO in protecting intangible cultural heritages.
