U.S. Urged to Face up to Changed Reality: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- At the UN General Assembly and the UNSC in Sept., the U.S. asserted that sanctions against the DPRK will be sustained until denuclearization has been completed and that the security of the Korean peninsula depends on the full implementation of sanctions resolution against the DPRK. And U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo made the participating states tense at the UNSC ministerial meeting, saying that without sanctions everything will go back and the member states of the UN should observe the sanctions resolution against the DPRK and the countries that violate the sanctions resolution will be held accountable.

A spokesperson of the U.S. Department of State and Haley, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, remarked that the DPRK has agreed on a dialogue in a bid to get rid of sanctions and that sanctions will not be lifted until no nuclear threat from it has been confirmed.

In this regard Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a commentary that the recent initiative and preemptive steps by the DPRK reflected in the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" are a sign of its firm will to realize the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, which deserves the thanks of the U.S. administration.

The U.S. is the very one that spawned the nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula, says the commentary, adding:

By nature, sanctions over nuclear issue should be imposed upon the U.S., not the DPRK.

The U.S. invented the sanctions against the DPRK under unreasonable pretexts and tries to keep them at a time when the pretexts are removed. Its misbehavior is so brigandish and frivolous that the U.S. itself has difficulty in discerning which is true or false.

This is the true picture of the U.S. talking about confidence.

The U.S. loses patience, claiming that the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula is its goal but it blocks denuclearization of its own accord.

We will never beg the U.S. to lift the sanctions as before.

The U.S. will get nothing from the sanctions, which make its position unfavorable.

This is the principled stand of the DPRK over the issue of sanctions.

The U.S. should stop doing a self-contradictory act and make a correct choice conforming to the changed reality.
