The Swiss Organizing Committee for the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea stressed this in a joint statement on September 2 to mark the 21st anniversary of his election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Chairman Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK is a token of the Korean people's boundless trust in him, the statement said.

He carried forward the idea and line of President Kim Il Sung in all fields of party and state activities without an inch of deflection, it noted.

He formulated the Songun politics into the main political mode under socialism and steadily consolidated the DPRK as an invincible socialist fortress, it pointed out.

He also provided two north-south summits and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration were adopted to open up a radical phase for Korea's reunification, it said.

We extend everlasting glory to Kim Jong Il, the eternal head of the Workers' Party of Korea, it noted.
