The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) called for launching all-people general onward movement to activate the overall national economy and put it on an upward spiral track by hitting the goals of five-year strategy for national economic development with continuous attack and increased production set forth at the Seventh Congress of the WPK. In hearty response to the call, working people across the country are making collective innovations.

Taking the lead in the drive for increased production are workers of power stations in different parts of the country, including the Sunchon Thermal Power Plant that holds the foremost place among power stations under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry by generating over 20 million kWh more electricity than schedule as of September.

The Songnam Youth Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex and the Ryongsan Coal Mine under the Tukjang Area Coal Mining Complex carried out the production assignments enough for two years and 10-odd coal mines in the western area fulfilled their yearly plans.

In the field of light industry, many workers carried out the production assignments enough for two or three years through the hot wind of collective emulation and progress has been made in the drive to produce more world-famous products and commodities.

The agricultural sector directs big efforts to winding up harvest and threshing in a short span of time.
