Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial the founding of the WPK was a historic event that brought about a radical turn in the efforts of the Korean people for hewing out their independent destiny and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The 70-odd years-long history of the WPK is a proud history in which it has always emerged victorious in carving out the path ahead of the country and the revolution under the unfurled banner of single-minded unity, says the editorial, adding:

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il set it as a fundamental issue in building a revolutionary party to strengthen the cohesion and unity of the Party. They built our Party into a militant party with the firm monolithic ideological system and a strong sense of organization and discipline and into an invincible revolutionary party which has taken deep roots among the popular masses and become a harmonious whole with them.

Our Party could victoriously advance the revolution and construction without a shred of vacillation or deviation despite the unprecedented harsh ordeals. It is thanks to the indefatigable and devoted efforts of the great leaders who thoroughly applied the ideal and revolutionary philosophy of unity to the party building and activities. Under their energetic guidance the organizational and ideological foundation of the Party was firmly cemented, the cohesion and unity of the entire party radically strengthened and a contemporary example of the building of a revolutionary party provided.

Undying are the revolutionary exploits of the great leaders who developed the WPK into an entity which organizes and guides all victories of our people and left the single-minded unity of the Party and the revolutionary ranks as a noble bequest of the revolution.

Minju Joson says that the WPK is the one which organizes and guides all victories of our people as it has dynamically advanced the Juche revolution, winning victories and glory despite any violent storm for more than 70 years.
