Anniversary of DIU Marked in Switzerland

| Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Organizing Committee for the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Oct. 13 ahead of the 92nd anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). The statement said that President Kim Il Sung formed the DIU, the first revolutionary organization of Juche type in Korea, 92 years ago. Referring to the DIU's immediate tasks and final goal, it said: The DIU struggled to liberate Korea and flatly rejected dogmatism and dependence on outside forces. It also roused all the people to an anti-Japanese armed struggle. It became historic roots of the Workers' Party of Korea. We extend eternal glory to President Kim Il Sung who formed the DIU. Meanwhile, David Rossi, chief of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in the Southern Region of Switzerland, issued a statement on Oct. 10, the 73rd birthday of the WPK. |
