Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The recycling of wastes has been pushed forward in the DPRK. The Posan Iron Works set up a process of recycling slag at the final stage to increase the production of Juche iron. According to an official concerned, the recycling process would produce a considerable amount of iron in a year and the remainder after recycling be used for producing building materials. The iron works has also accelerated the project to harness waste heat from rotary kiln. After establishing an energy-saving process of steam production fuelled by soot and waste gas, the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex generates over 10,000 kWs of electric power on a hundred and tens of tons of steam per hour to be used in Juche fertilizer production. The Pyongyang Rayon Factory paved a way for increasing the production of rayon yarn by establishing the process of recycling waste yarn. The Pyongyang Building Materials Factory made a new ceiling with waste from production to be conducive to ensuring the quality and cultural refinement of buildings. Meanwhile, the recycling of plastic and rubber is brisk at various footwear factories. The recycling of wastes takes an important share in the development of national economy for considerably reducing the consumption of fuel and raw materials, preventing environmental pollution and raising the economic effectiveness to the maximum. |
