The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the Association of Reservists for Peace and other organizations of south Korea called a news conference outside the Institute for Defense Studies in Seoul on Oct. 16.

Speakers charged that the U.S. has persistently urged south Korea to increase the upkeep of its troops at the negotiations for concluding a "special agreement on defence cost sharing".

Such protest action was also witnessed in Pusan and South Kyongsang Province.
